I don't know the science behind this. Though this gives hyperextension and support to the cervical vertebrae, it is not giving to the support to read more

I don't know the science behind this. Though this gives hyperextension and support to the cervical vertebrae, it is not giving to the support to the upper thoracic vertebrae infact keeping them away from the plane in which we are sleeping and I am worried whether this would lead to untoward effects to the proximal thoracic vertebrae in the long run.
