Body and Construction
The Manfrotto 054 Mag Ball Head is made of magnesium and aluminium alloy that provides it strength and light weight simultaneously. It weighs just 500 grams but can support a huge weight, a maximum of 10 kilograms of equipment mounted on it. It has panning capacity of a complete 360 degrees, and lateral tilt range of -100 degrees to 40 degrees. An advanced and unique feature is the exceptional 90 degrees to 105 degrees portrait angle selector that permits improved control over the camera for increased precision. The independent pan locking mechanism locks the head at any required angle, so that the camera does not shift and can be used as long as required at that angle. The maximum working height of this tripod ball head is 11.7 cm.
Quick Release Plate and Lever
The circular, 200PL-14 camera mounting plate of the ball head is also an advanced component which has the widest diameter, and thus, greater compatibility. The plate has Q2 quick release capability which is compatible with the RC2 mechanism, provides for quick mounting and detachment of the camera from the tripod head.
Compatible Cameras
The Manfrotto 054 Mag Ball Head is compatible with almost all DSLR cameras. As it has a standard top attachment mechanism involving 0.6 cm screw and 0.9 cm female screw thread, almost any camera of any brand and make can be mounted on this tripod head.
